After the bridge: restrooms in DUMBO and the park
Walking the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan takes half an hour or more, there is nothing on the walkway, and most people come down the stairs or ramp into DUMBO needing one. The map above opens on the 11 restroom places our data holds within half a mile of the bridge's Brooklyn end at Old Fulton Street (a facility mapped as several points counts once), which covers DUMBO, the whole of Brooklyn Bridge Park's northern piers and the top of Brooklyn Heights. 8 are recorded as open to the public and 3 as free.
Brooklyn Bridge Park: where its restrooms are and when they open
Brooklyn Bridge Park, which runs the waterfront from the Manhattan Bridge south to Atlantic Avenue, lists its restrooms at the Pier 1 Pavilion, Pier 2, the Pier 5 Boathouse, Pier 6 (Fornino and Quay Tower), Squibb Park, the Environmental Education Center on Main Street and in Empire Stores. The Pier 1, Empire Stores and Main Street ones are the nearest to the bridge; Piers 5 and 6 are at the far southern end, about a mile away.
Empire Stores, the converted warehouse on Water Street between the two bridges, is the nearest of these to the bridge: the park's page for it says "public restrooms are located on the first floor."
The park gives its restroom hours as 7 AM to 11 PM from March to October and 7 AM to 10 PM from November to March, and the park as a whole is "open 7 days a week, 6 AM to 1 AM".

DUMBO's streets and Brooklyn Heights
Away from the park, the restrooms our data records in DUMBO's streets and up the hill in Brooklyn Heights are mostly unnamed and without hours, and one is recorded as inside a building. They are listed below exactly as recorded; we have not checked them with their operators.
Not covered: the Manhattan side. For City Hall Park and the Financial District, search "Lower Manhattan" or use your location from the map on this page.
Accessible restrooms and baby changing
Within half a mile of the bridge's Brooklyn end our data records 3 wheelchair accessible restrooms and 1 with a baby changing table. The record closest to the bridge on the park side, between Empire Stores and Main Street, is tagged as open to the public, accessible and with a changing table.
Every restroom on the map, nearest first
11 places within half a mile of the Brooklyn end of the Brooklyn Bridge. Distances are straight-line from the center of the area. Each row shows only what OpenStreetMap records for it, after cleaning: a row without hours or access details means the record has none we could show, not that the restroom is closed or locked. OpenStreetMap data from October 2026.
"Open now" and "Closed now" appear only where OpenStreetMap lists a restroom's opening hours: 1 place here, and 1.7% of the US restroom records we use. Those hours are added by volunteers and may be out of date, and "Hours not listed" means only that no hours are recorded.
