Public Restrooms in the Chicago Loop and Millennium Park
12 restrooms within half a mile of Millennium Park, from the Bean to the Riverwalk and the Loop. 3 wheelchair accessible, 2 free.
Restrooms between the Loop, Millennium Park and the river
The Loop is Chicago's downtown inside the elevated tracks, and Millennium Park, Grant Park and the Riverwalk sit on its east and north edges; visitors walk between the Bean, the Art Institute, State Street and the river all day. The map above opens on the 12 restroom places our data holds within half a mile of Millennium Park at Michigan Avenue and Washington Street (a facility mapped as several points counts once). 5 are recorded as open to the public, 3 as customers only, and 1 has hours recorded.
Millennium Park: hours and where its restrooms are
The City of Chicago lists Millennium Park as "open daily 6 a.m. - 11 p.m., free admission". Its Welcome Center is open 9 AM to 7 PM from Memorial Day to October 1 and 9 AM to 5 PM the rest of the year, staying open until 9 PM on event nights; the Park Shop is open 10 AM to 5 PM (9 AM to 5 PM in winter).
The city's Plan Your Visit page, under "Restrooms and Water Fountains", says: "The only public restrooms in the park are off the lower level of the park in the building off the McCormick rink." That is the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink on the Michigan Avenue side, beside the Park Shop. The larger banks of restrooms below the Jay Pritzker Pavilion are closed: the city's Millennium Park page says that from 18 September 2026 "the East and West restrooms (lower level of either side of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion) will be closed" for construction, and that the Park Shop restrooms stay open park hours (checked 8 October 2026). We have left the two Pritzker records off the map until the city says they have reopened. OpenStreetMap has no record for the Park Shop building's restrooms, so we have added them to the map at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink, from the city's description; the pin is approximate, but the building is the one the city names.

Grant Park and the lakefront
Grant Park's restrooms are run by the Chicago Park District. One, the Buckingham North Comfort Station near Buckingham Fountain, is named in our data and recorded as open to the public, free and wheelchair accessible, without baby changing. The Park District's own hours for it were not checked for this page.
Accessible restrooms and baby changing
Within half a mile of Millennium Park our data records 3 wheelchair accessible restrooms and 0 with a baby changing table. That is a small share of the 12 in the area; most records here carry no accessibility tag either way.
Every restroom on the map, nearest first
12 places within half a mile of Millennium Park, from 13 map points (a facility mapped as several points, such as a men's and a women's room, is one place). Distances are straight-line from the center of the area. Each row shows only what OpenStreetMap records for it, after cleaning: a row without hours or access details means the record has none we could show, not that the restroom is closed or locked. OpenStreetMap data from October 2026.
"Open now" and "Closed now" appear only where OpenStreetMap lists a restroom's opening hours: 1 place here, and 1.7% of the US restroom records we use. Those hours are added by volunteers and may be out of date, and "Hours not listed" means only that no hours are recorded.
